Here is my second set of recipe cards for the recipe swap at DIY. The recipe on this set of cards is very ADDICTIVE!!!! I created this delicious drink several years ago, and it has become a favorite for my family (and many friends). I don't make it near as much as I'd like because it is a little on the "fattening" side. LOL

I have really enjoyed making the recipe cards for this swap. I hope the ladies at DIY will enjoy the recipe and the cards. Recipe Cards

I am participating in a recipe swap with some wonderful ladies from DIY. I like to do this kind of swap because I not only get delicious recipes, but the cards are absolutely adorable. I purchased a 6x6 album from Hobby Lobby to put them in for safekeeping. The album looks nice on my kitchen counter. I get lots of compliments on it, and it gives me a chance to share it with my friends.

Aymee edited my pix again. Isn't she awesome?!? BTW, how do you like the new blog look? It is courtesy of my talented daughter as well. Thanks Aymee!!!!

A "Witchy" Notepad Holder

I thought using an acrylic photo frame for a notepad holder was the coolest altered project idea I had seen in a while. I spotted one on Splitcoaststampers. That site has SEVERAL versions, and each one is super cool!

For my version, I purchased the following from:
WalMart: frame for $0.97 and notepad
Hobby Lobby: all paper, ribbon, Stickles
Dollar General: Pentel brand pen (WalMart carries these as well)
Helmar: glue
JoAnn: circle and scalloped punches

I used my Cricut and the Happy Hauntings cartridge for the witch hat and boots. The sentiment was computer generated using WrapCandy.

Did you notice the barrel of the pen? I wrapped some of the stipped paper (like I used for the witch's stockings) around it. I saw this idea on Splitcoaststampers as well.

Carter's Tooth Fairy Box

Carter has his first loose tooth!!!!! I decided to make him a Tooth Fairy Box for this milestone.

The "box" was made using my Scor Pal. This is the neatest tool for making boxes, purses, envelopes, cards, etc...

The top of the box is decorated with svg files from My ScrapChick using my Cricut and SCAL. I tried to keep it from looking "girly" but when the tooth fairy is a girl (or so Carter says) there are some girly features. Carter LOVES girls, so he thought she was soooo cute! The sentiment was computer generated.

Here is a pic of the card Carter will use this to tell about loosing his first tooth. I used various svg files and embellies on each card. Caressa said she was going to put Carter's first tooth in the photo square located in the lower left hand corner. Isn't she clever?!?

The last pic is of the last section of the box. I created a "false bottom" and it has a drawstring bag I made for Carter to put his tooth in and put under his pillow. These's also a poem about leaving a tooth for the tooth fairy.

We also have a certificate and a note for the Tooth Fairy to leave Carter.

This was so much fun to make. It took me almost 2 whole days. I put a lot of thought into it, and I'm meticulous and slow. I would love to make a girly girl Tooth Fairy box as well. Happy Birthday Tyler

Today is my son's birthday. He is a wonderful young man, and I'm very proud of him. He's smart, hard-working, handsome, etc... He and Aymee are both a huge blessing in my life. I am so fortunate to have 2 great "kids" who have grown up to be responsible adults.

I asked Tyler what he wanted for his birthday, and he said, "A Lowe's giftcard so I can buy some tools." He is very good (meticulous) at "fixing" things around the house, so this is something that I know he will enjoy. After purchasing the giftcard, I knew exactly how I wanted to design his birthday card. I used my Cricut, SCAL, and an svg file from My ScrapChick in its construction. The sentiment is computer generated using WrapCandy software. The papers are all from Hobby Lobby.

Carter's 4th of July Wreath

My (awesome, adorable, creative, hilarious, loving, etc...) grandson, Carter has made the cutest wreath. It is made from an old Cricut mat. I cut out the shape, and purchased the items he attached to it from the $1 bin at JoAnn. He placed the items where he thought they looked good, then I added some Helmar glue and he adhered them on the mat. Next, he decided to put some rhinestones on it. So, he glued them on with a glue stick. Then he wanted a bow, so I tied it and glued it on with hot glue. The last step was to add a little stickles to the USA sticker. As you will see, it looks really good! I am so proud of him!!!!!

Carter also chose the letter stickers to put on the "F"!

RHS Tigers Baseball Book

I have been working on this boardbook sporadically for the past 3 weeks. When I am designing these books, I gather information about the individual in which the book represents. This can take a little time, especially if you have never seen the person or had any contact whatsoever. It's an interesting process, and one that I really enjoy. I want my books to "tell a story" because it makes them more personal (special). As you will see, I put a lot of detail into my work. I hope you enjoy seeing my latest creation. Sign for my Scrappy Room Door

I previously mentioned that I give away nearly everything I make, so I am very proud of myself for making a sign for my scrappy room door. I have wanted one for quite some time, so without further adieu:

Cheerleader Personalized Water Thermos/Bottles

Hey and Whew! It's HOT!!!! We are under a heat advisory here in North Alabama. I feel so sorry for the people who have to work outdoors in this weather, and it is rough on children who want to play outside (ie... Carter). Momaw Carol won't let him stay out too long nor let him be out during the hottest portion of the day. I do keep him well hydrated.

I personalized 12 of these cute little water bottles a couple weeks ago, but they were a gift for the girls (cheerleaders); therefore I didn't post a pic until now. The mom who was giving these as a little gift for cheercamp presented them yesterday. I hope they like them and enjoy them for a long time. Best

Yesterday after spring cleaning a couple of rooms, I designed and constructed a candy bar cover, and 2 different mint covers for Carter. I told him that when school was out I would make some things for him, so I did. He was so sweet! He really appreciates and loves the "little goodies" momaw makes.

I am also working on some books. One of which is ready except for personalizing a baseball shirt. Hopefully, I can get the info I need and finish it by tomorrow at least.

Personalized Insulated Cups

We have just finished our school year, and I sure do miss my students and their parents/guardians. The students were very social, caring, close, and so full of life, and the parents/guardians were always willing to help and took an active interest in their child's education. They were also very generous in expressing their thanks with awesome teacher appreciation gifts. We had a great year, and I'm thankful I had the opportunity to be a small part of their lives.

One of the projects I completed was a personalized cup for a majorette. The mom purchased the cup at Wal-Mart, and I added the vinyl clip art (made by my daughter, southernbellescrapper - Aymee) using my SCAL and Cricut. The font is Black Chancery. I think it looks "cool!" LOL

Aymee also took my pic and edited it with her photo software. Thanks Aymee! :)

I have more projects completed but can't post them until next week (they are gifts).

Bridal Shower Favors & Graduation Cards

I know I haven't posted in two weeks, but I have been scrapping. We only have 1 more week of school, and I have several projects that need to be completed by the end of the week. So, that is the reason I haven't posted. Here are a few of my latest "little treasures!"

Spa Kits

I saw these super cute spa kits on beth-a-palooza's blog. She makes the most adorable gifts! As soon as I saw them, I knew I had to try to make one. Well, I have made 2 and am almost finished with the 3rd. I am sharing the one I made for my BFF, Aymee. I told her she would have to come to Bama to get it. LOL.

I purchased the nail polish remover at Wal-Mart, and all the other little goodies came from Dollar Tree. I used the Mickey and Friends cart to cut the nail polish embellie and the flower. I tried to find small packets of foot lotion, scrub, etc... (the packets that look like little feet) to add to the kit as well, but had no luck with that. I'll keep looking for them so I can hopefully add them to it before Aymee comes for a visit. I know Wal-Mart did stock them. I also think a small candle would be a great addition to it as well (you know, one of the tea candles placed in a cute little clear plastic bag - like the ones I made recently for my coworkers).

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream

Hey! Hope you are having a fantastic day. I sure am. My daughter Aymee (southernbellescrapper) and I have been scrapping together via Skype. We love to work on projects together, so this handy little tool allows us to do just that. BTW, today is National Scrapbooking Day! How cool is that!?!

I am in a tag swap with Aymee, my mother, and several other nice ladies over at DIY. So, I have been working on tags today. I made 10 ice cream cone tags, and they look so YUMMY! Really makes me want to ask my DH if he will make an ice cream run to Sonic. LOL

I made these using an svg file from My Scrap Chick. Its in the Sweet Treats Collection. I also embossed the cone and the ice cream using my Cuddlebug along with the argyle and swirls folders. Then I used Chalk Box inks to distress the edges just a bit. The cherry is a button with a gem attched on top, and the green ribbon represents the stem and can be used to attach the tag to a gift, etc...

I also cut names from vinyl and attached them to cosmetic bags today for a friend to give as graduation gifts. I can't post these just yet because I don't want to ruin their surprise.

Mother's Day Gift for My Mom

Hey everyone. Hope your week has been great. It's a beautiful day here in North Alabama today, and the forecast calls for nice weather all weekend.

I knew exactly what I wanted to give my mom for Mother's Day, and I knew how I wanted it to look. You know, sometimes what's in your head doesn't exactly turn out as you wish, but I must say that this is what I envisioned.

I purchased the zebra print rainboots at a local shoe store, then I purchased items to go in them from Dollar General, Dollar Tree, and Wal-Mart. My mom's initials are "M M," so I cut them from green vinyl using my Cricut and SCAL program and then placed them on the front of the boots. After I finished taking pix of them on my front steps, I told my hubby that I wanted some for myself. You see, I am always making things and giving them away to friends and family. Oh Well! That's what makes me happy! :)

Altered Clock

I altered this clock for my son-in-law, Brandon, for his birthday. He is working on his man cave and needed a clock, so I decided this would be the perfect gift. I was right; he loved it! I purchased this clock at Wal-Mart for $5. I used my SCAL program, Gypsy, cricut, and the Everyday Paper Dolls cart in its construction. The paper was purchased from Hobby Lobby, and I used Helmar glue as my adhesive. Isn't that little rocker cute! I altered the guitar to mimic the look of Brandon's guitar and chose red for the hair to complete the look.

Various Easter Projects

Hello Everyone! I haven't posted this week due to the devastating tornadoes in our area. It has been a difficult week for all of us. We have lost several friends, and have friends who have lost everything they own. Ron and I worked helping friends clean up and salvage pieces of their lives yesterday afternoon. I have always heard about utter destruction and seen pictures of tornado ravaged areas, but what we experienced was worse than anything I could've imagined. I feel so much saddness for our friends and neighbors in Hackleburg and Phil Campbell, and the Mt. Hope community isn't very far from us as well. Remember to pray for the victims and their families, and if you ever have a chance to help in situations like this, please put your skills to use and donate when you can.

What a difference one week makes. This week we are experiencing this tragedy, and last week (Easter weekend) we were with our precious grandson in Chattanooga having a great time.

The week of Easter, I worked on several projects. Some I made to give to my students and co-workers and other items were made for friends to give as gifts. I got some of the ideas from Beth-a-palooza's blog (she has an awesome blog with fabulous altered items) and others from craft fairs.

This snapshot shows a few of the items I made in one evening. Bunny Jars are on the back row, Donut Bunnies, are in the middle, and the rabbits on the front row are popcorn packets.

These plastic egg "people" are filled with neat little "goodies!"

My buddy teacher and I made these for our students.

This idea came from "creative hayes creations" blog. I added a small message on the tag with the following message: It's Easter! if you needed an "EGGcuse" for chocolate! Inside the wrapper is a Hershey chocolate bar.

Tea Light Candles

I saw this idea at a craft fair and decided to make some myself. I gave a package to my 5th grade co-workers and the ladies in the office (along with the principal and vice-principal) the day before we ended our state testing. There is a computer generated message on the back that says, "We can almost see the LIGHT as the end of the tunnel!"

Carter's Birthday Party

Hey Everyone! Hope you had a great day. It was our first day back to school from Spring Break; we have only 29 more school days! I love teaching, but it is difficult for me to go to school at this time of year because the weather is so pleasant that I just want to be outside. I tell my students that teachers are just like them; we are ready for school to be out as well.

Now, on to Carter's 6th Birthday Party! I made his invitations to give to his classmates and some to mail as well. Here is what he took to school: (the computer generated party info is on the back; a lollipop is inserted in the bottom)

Yes, it's an Auburn themed party so these items would look so much better if they were BAMA themed! RTR (Roll, Tide Roll)

The banner has the Auburn logo on each end.

Caressa purchased these serving pieces at Wal-Mart, and I added the blue/orange vinyl.

Sorry this isn't a good pic, but I wanted you to see the party favors. The book-looking item on the left of the bag is a cover for orange TicTacs. I cut out the 6 using my cricut and SCAL program. The 6 at the top of the bag is attached to a Pixy Stic. It is the 6 from the cut out of the Tic Tac favor. We purchased several small toys to put in the bag (purchased from Dollar Tree) along with the two I made. Each child had his/her initial on their bag if we knew they were coming to his party. If not, their bag didn't have an intial. Since Carter was the guest of honor, I put his name on his bag. Also, we tied orange, blue, and orange tiger print balloons on the handles of each one. Bunny Bubble Gum Machine

I made this cute little bunny a in January and submitted it to Scrap Street, an online magazine, and it was selected for publication in the April issue If you have never viewed this ezine, you should head on over there for some great articles and super crafty ideas! I bought the flower pots and saucers from Wal-Mart and the bowl at Dollar Tree. I painted the pots, saucers, and knob with two coats of acrylic paint (which I mixed myself to get the desired color). Then, I used Modge Podge as a sealer. When all those pieces were dry, I put them together in a bubble gum machine manner using E6000 glue. Then, I made the adorable little chicken/egg using my Cricut, SCAL, and an svg from treasureboxdesigns. They have the cutest files! To finish up the look I was going for, I added vinyl ovals in various colors cut from the Plantin Schoolbook cart to the bowl. This was a fun and easy project. I would definitely like to do this again. As a matter of fact, Carter thinks he needs one! Lol

Adorable Easter Bunny Jars

I have really been in an Easter scrapping mood for the past several days. I came across this idea (which I altered to suit my needs and personality) several weeks ago and absolutely loved it, but can't remember exactly where I saw it. Sorry. If I find it, I will definitely make a correction to this post in order to give credit where it is due.

The jars came from Hobby Lobby. I bought several of them at regular price, then the very next week they were 50% off. Just my luck! Oh well! The ribbon is from Wal-Mart, and the bunny was constructed from shapes on my SCAL. I spent a couple hours trying to get the shapes/sizes like I wanted them (I am so slow and meticulous and that is why it took that long), but I'm pleased with the results. After I constructed my pattern, I made 9 of these cute little jars. Carter had the idea to add a ribbon on some of the ears so they would be "female" he said. Thanks to my little crafty grandson for that little addition.

No Idle Hands For Me

I haven't posted in quite a while, but I have still been crafting. During the school year, I don't have a lot of free time, so creating blog posts are few and far between. Here is what I worked on today:

Easter Pencil Boxes for Carter's Kindergarten Class

I totally scraplifted this idea from Linda at http://www.stampwithlindawalsh.com/10/category/pencil%20case/1.html. This link will take you directly to the pencil case tutorial. This talented lady has some awesome projects, and really neat videos demonstrating various techniques and altered projects.

I made 25 of these adorable treats. Carter only needs 16 for his class, so I am going to give the extras to some of the ladies at my school. They really love the "goodies" the gift fairy leaves them. Lol

I placed them in this basket; however, I am hoping to go to Dollar Tree or Dollar General to purchase a colorful plastic bin ( I can decorate the outside of that container with my vinyl to make it look more "Eastery"!) to put them in before he takes them to school.

This project allowed me to use some of my scrap paper stash and stamps which I haven't used. The pencils and erasers (the little chicks on top of the lables) were purchased from Dollar Tree. I love that store!!! The scalloped ovals were cut using my Cricut machine and the Storybook cart.

Roll Tide Monogram - An Altered Project

Hobby Lobby recently had these gorgeous Chipboard Monograms/Letters. They also had free brochures that offered suggestions of how to decorate them. Well, I knew exactly what I wanted to do! So, I made a Bama Wall Hanging for my husband's Roll Tide Room. I hope you enjoy my little project and come up with great ideas of your own.

Books for Marilyn, A Wonderful Friend!

These 2 books were ordered for Father's Day by my friend, Marilyn. The DADDY book is for her husband and the FAMILY book (which is from the entire family) is for her Papa. Once again, some of the pics posted vertically. I will try to correct this ASAP.
Marilyn's husband is a construction worker and likes old cars, so you will note these elements in the book.
As usual, I used the Everyday Paper Dolls cart. I also used an svg file for the old car. The beach page items are from Life's A Beach and svg files which were purchased from Treasure Box Designs. The paper was purchased from Hobby Lobby (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that store). I hope you can see the tiny earrings on the little girls. I usually fail to mention these little embellies, and as usual I used Stickles to highlight several images.

For the FAMILY book, the paper was purchased from (you guessed it) HL, the letters were cut using the SCAL program, Big Al was made from a file from My Scrap Chick, the lacey heart is from the Storybook cart, the silouette images are from A Child's Year, and all the paperdolls are from EDPD (Everyday Paper Dolls). The special poem on the Nanny page came from Marilyn. A friend gave it to her after her mother died. It is the perfect touch to make that make the books personal and unique. All the sports, princess, and ballerina paper dolls represent the grandchildren. The page with the 5 girls represent Marilyn and her sisters. When Marilyn came to pick up the book, she knew right away which paper doll girl was her and which were her "sisters!"
I really enjoyed making this book. It was very sentimental and special to me because Marilyn is such a great friend and we share so many interests. Thanks Marilyn for allowing me to share in your memories!

Raley - A Gift for Mother's Day

This adorable little book was made especially for another coworker to give to her daughter-in-law for Mothers' Day! Isn't that sweet! All the adorable paper (by the Paper Studio) was purchased at Hobby Lobby! I LOVE that store!
I finally got the SCAL program!Yah!!!! Aymee taught me how to design/cut the letters all by myself. Thanks baby girl! She also sent me the file for the mother reading to her daughter silouette.
I used Everyday Paper Dolls and A Child's Year carts. I like to use the paper dolls cart because I can really get in to personalizing the book with its use. I always solicit information on the interests and physical appearance of the person the book is designed for/about and use that cart to achieve the results I want. This is what makes the books so SPECIAL (in my opinion).
I also highlighted many of the shapes/letters using Stickles. You will also note the use of tiny white Daisies on most pages and gem stones on the ocean page.
The wheelbarrow, sun, and large pink flowers which are used as photo mats were made from files purchased from My Scrap Chick. That is another GREAT site with the cutest svg files which are awesome for use in scrapbooking as well as many other nifty projects. A few of the pages are posted vertically, and I have no idea why. So, please forgive this inconvenience.

This danceline book was designed by my daughter, Aymee. I only did the decorating on it. I made one ealier this year and when Erin's mom saw it she decided to order one also. These photos didn't take well at all. I didn't one that would show up for the "n" page. It is the PepRally page.

A Wedding Gift

My friend Kathy asked me to "make" something using a wedding invitation she recieved. She also told me that her niece (the bride to be) had just graduated at U of A (Roll Tide!) and would be living in Tuscaloosa. The invitation was printed with burgundy ink, so I chose to use it to make a picture. The background is black/white houndstooth check. Then, I triple matted the invitation to make it pop. Then, I used white and red cardstock for the lettering. When Kathy picked it up, she was so excited about the results. I hope you will enjoy it as well.

Mothers' Day Toilet Paper Roll Ablum

Welcome!

Recently, I was trying to find something for Mothers' Day that my buddy teacher and I could teach our students to make for this upcoming holiday. Aymee suggested that we look at the adorable toilet paper roll albums posted on the Cricut Messageboard. Well, we did, and loved them. So, we began collecting empty toilet paper rolls from our students as well as other faculty and staff members at our school. In order for me to be able to teach my students, I had to make one myself. Since I only had short periods of time to spend on these, it took me several days to construct. They are SO MUCH FUN to make. I know our students will enjoy this project too.

The tag in the first pocket is a quote, the tag in the second pocket has a pic of Carter mounted on one side and "Happy Mothers' Day on the other side (he wrote it himself), and the third pocket has a note that I wrote to my beautiful daughter-in-law. She is a great mother. I really appreciate her sharing Carter with us. I plan to give it to her for Mothers' Day.

I hope this little project will inspire to give it a try as well. Be warned, you may be hooked!

Shelby's Book

Here is another boardbook for a cheerleader. Shelby is best friends with Caitlan, so she wanted a cheerleader book too. I used the following Cricut Carts in construction of this book: Everyday PaperDolls, Lyrical Letters, Mickey Mouse. I also used my new SCAL Program.

As you probably remember, the tiger paw is a replica of one that is on our tiger walk. I also want to point out the little iPhone on the paperdoll that has on a dress.

A Book for Cody

I finally had a chance to scrap!!!! Last week was our Spring Break, so I had fun scrapping! Yah!!!

I made this book for a student in my homeroom. His mom and I were Buddy-Teachers for several years. I have worked on it for quite some time (between orders), and I decided last week that I was going to finish it before any other projects. I was going to wait until the end of this school year to give it to him, but I can't. I am too excited about it to keep it to myself! Cody is a fine young man. He is an excellent student and an awesome baseball player! I am so proud of him.

I used Everyday Paperdolls, Lyrical Letters, and Sports Mania Cricut carts along with my new SCAL! That's right! I took the plunge and got the SCAL program. I am still learning how to use it, but with Aymee's help and some playing around I will get much better.

Awesome Weather

Hello,

We have been blessed to experience the most awesome weather lately. The trees have tiny leaves on them, and the grass is beginning to be green. Spring is my favorite time of year!

Well, I haven't scrapped lately due Ron's doctor appts. He will begin radiation treatments as soon as he heals a little more. Hopefully, I will have a chance to get back at it really soon. I miss making books and cards!

Hello Everyone,

It is beginning to turn cooler here in NA. We are so ready for true "spring" weather. It has been cold, rainy, snowy, etc.. for quite some time. We are not accustomed to that in our neck of the woods.

Aymee has gone back to PA, and I really miss her. We had a great time working on cards and books. I learned how to use her SCAL program "somewhat" while she was here. I want to download that program to my "puter" soon. I did cut out 3 more books before she left. One is another DANCELINE book, one is another cheerleader book, and the other is a surprise for someone very special. I can barely wait to get them covered and personalized. I didn't work on them this weekend. I have, of all things, shingles. They are very painful and are interferring with my time to "play" with my scrappy stuff. I hope to be able to work on them some this week after school (on the days that I don't have homework - checking student's work/preparing for state testing).

Custom Boardbooks for Melissa and Kelly

Hello everyone! My daughter and I have been working on fulfilling a boardbook order. We have created 7 boardbooks for some of the fellow teachers that I work with. Here are the two books that I created.

I hope you will be able to see these pictures ok. My daughter, Aymee, did her best at taking photos. It has been raining here and she had to take them indoors. The pictures do not do them justice. They are very colorful, but maybe you can tell about them.

The Man Who "Melts My Heart"

I saw a version of this card on another site and fell in love with it immediately. I knew it was the perfect card for my DH.

The paper is from a DCWV stack, the lace is from my stash, and the ribbon was recently purchased at Wal-Mart.
The popsicle was cut using Doodlecharms, and I used real popsicle sticks.
Stickles were applied to the edge of the popsicle and over the letters which were cut from Lyrical Letters. I also decided to distress the edge of the shadow.
I used a regular size straight pin to adhere that tiny pink heart. Then, I added a brown button for the middle of the knotted bow.

For the inside of the card, I cut the heart and letters from Plantin Schoolbook. Then, I used glossy accents on the letters to give them that shiny/melted look. Gold stickles were applied to the heart shadow.

Well, I am preparing the house for Aymee's visit this week. So, I won't be scrapping for several days.

One Very Productive Week!!!

I have been very busy with my card-making this week. It was super fun and therapeutic. I actually didn't get to bed until well after midnight a couple of nights. I really get so much more done in the wee hours of the morning, especially if Ron makes me one of his famous peanut butter frappacinnos - YumYum.

This card is actually an easel card. If you haven't tried this technique yet, please give it a try.
I scraplifted this idea from Aymee. She sent me the papers you will see in many of the Valentine cards I have made. I had this cute robot in my stash. It is cosmo cricket.

I also cut and shadowed a heart which is mounted on the bottom of the card for the purchaser to write a little note to her hubby.

This white-on-white card was a joy to construct. I used the Wedding cart for the triple hearts which are mounted on the embossed base. I shaded all pieces with rouge distressing ink. I used 2 border punches: the threading water punch in which the white ribbon is laced and the heart punch. I used a regular size pin for the glittery pink heart, and then adhered that little white heart for the center of the bow.

This awesome Bama Bear was made by none other than Aymee. I mounted it on an argyle embossed mat. The football is embossed with the swiss dots folder. The message on the inside is "Happy Valentines' Day."

This litte Hello Kitty Valentines' Day card was purchased by a lady who also ordered 2 more cards. However, I failed to take pics of them - and I really wish I had pics. I made her one more Hello Kitty and a Bama Nurse card. The nurse card is so cute!!!! I will have to make another one so you can see how it looks - I can give it to my friend who is a nurse.

I also made 2 Golden Tiger Football Player Valentines Day cards, and 2 monogrammed pictures for Carter's teachers. I really wish I had not forgotten to take pics of those things. Boo Hoo!

Rockin Big Al

This little card is going to a very nice young man. He likes "Bama" and plays a guitar. So, I really like the combination in this project.

Al was made by my beautiful, talented daughter, Aymee. I mounted him on an argyle embossed mat.
The guitar and mic were cut from Everyday Paperdolls, and "Jordan' was cut using Plantin Schoolbook.

I hope you can tell in this close-up that I used small rhinestones on the neck of the guitar (to tighten the strings?), and I used a small amount of stickles on the guitar - I didn't want to make it too sparkly. I really wish I had some red glossy accents for this piece. The silver on the guitar was cut from shiny silver cardstock. I think it really added some interest/dimension to it.

Danceline Book

Happy Hump Day!!!!

I have finished the Danceline Book. The lady that ordered it feel in love with the little models of her daughter. She especially liked the first one. I designed it to replicate her daughter's show attire (right down to the wrist bands).
As you know, Aymee designed the book. The top spells out DANCE ,and the bottom (which is welded to the top) spells out Line. Isn't her work just fabulous!
I used maily Everday Paper Dolls, Paper Dolls, and the Lyrical Letters carts.

Carter Scrapping with Momaw Carol

Carter asked me to help him make his girlfriend a Valentine's Day card, so I did. Now keep in mind that his girlfriend is in the 4th Grade and he is only 4 years old. He says she is so pretty that he can't help himself. We have no idea where he has heard that!

Carter chose the heart he wanted to cut on the Cricut. He wanted the frilly edge card from Doodlecharms. I did let him push all the buttons on the Cricut, and then he used the spatula to remove it from the mat. He liked that heart background paper right away and knew it was the perfect choice. He also wanted the heart to be black. Then, he found some rhinestone hearts to adhere in just the perfect places. Next, he placed the sticker "I Love You" strip across the heart diagonally. Finally, he was more than ready to stamp the message (be my valentine) on the inside of the card along with his name. I hope you enjoy sharing in our joy as you check out his card.

Anniversary & Valentine's Cards

Well, its a dreary Saturday here in North Alabama. Ron has gone on a 4-wheeling trip, so I have the house to myself. I have another book I need to complete this weekend, and I also need to make more cards.

My hubby and I recently celebrated our 25th anniversary. Last year, I made the card I gave to him, and he really cherished it. So, this year I decided to do the same. He told me that I make the most special cards he has ever recieved. Now, isn't that sweet!?!

I chose to use "shiny silver" paper since it was our "silver" anniversary. The sentiment was cut using the Lyrical Letters cart and the numbers were cut using the Storybook cart and the "short/holes" function key. The card base is a very muted blue print.

I chose to use the entire area of the inside for my acrostic. Then, I decided to hand write the sentiment for each letter. This really made the card personal/special. The sentiment at the bottom was cut using the Lyrical Letters cart also.

I really enjoy card-making. I especially like the easel cards Aymee taught me to make. However, I chose to mount this card front on a traditional base. I really struggled with this one. It was one of those times that nothing seemed to work. I knew some basic elements I wanted to include, but it was so difficult to get the look I wanted to achieve. So, I went to my problem solver (Aymee) and asked her opinion. Finally, with her help, I finished this card. The pink papers are from the DCWV Doodlin Around stack for all the seasons. The black flourish paper is from the ScrapWorks Formal Affair stack. That stack has so many wonderful papers. The Love Bingo card was purchased from a scrapbook outlet we visited while in Pigeon Forge. The heart was cut using the Lyrical Letters cart, then I mounted it on white cardstock and trimmed it closely to make it "pop." I also used Lyrical Letters to cut the sentiment, "always." The heart cluster on the top of the black heart was cut using the Wild Card cart. The black bow is toille which I wrapped around the card front then tied in a knot. This makes the heart "stand up" off the card.

I really enjoyed making the following card. I used paper from the DCWV Year Round Stack for the base. Then I cut the hearts from both white and red cardstock using the Wild Card cart.

The flourishes on the white heart were stamped using VersaMark and red embossing powder. Then, I cut the silouhette from A Child's Year cart. Next, I mounted that silky lace on the bottom. Then, I attached this to my easel. I don't know if you can tell or not, but I adhered a red heart on top of the red button on the card base. Finally, I added the sentiment "B mine."

My Tea Set and Lamp

Good Tuesday Morning All,

I had several comments on my pink and black tea set and matching lamp. I got that at Hobby Lobby several years ago when they were "dirt cheap!" I decorate my breakfast room/tea room table (and kitchen) to match the seasons. I love doing that. Thanks so much for visiting my blog and leaving such positive comments. It makes me want to create more. I hope to get to scrap some cards tonight. I have Carter until ~7:00, so we will see how that goes. He likes to scrap too, so I usually just "play scrap" with him.

Flower Gift Box

Well, this is my third post of the day. Be sure to check out the other goodies I made while scrapping with Aymee yesterday via Skype.

I am needing a gift bag for Carter's teachers. I bought them a monogrammed notepad. They are really cute. I wanted to make the bag for them, so I used every Cricut cart I have to try to accomplish my goal. Well, the largest bag I can cut isn't big enough. So, I am thinking I will purchase a solid color bag (or a white lunch bag) and decorate them. Here is one of the items I put together in hopes of presenting the gifts in a special way.

I cut the flowerbox using the Tags/Bags/Boxes & More cart. BTW - if I can put this together, anyone can. It is so easy (and there aren't any directions for this). Once the score marks are made, the project almost comes together on its own. The grass is cut from the Plantin Schoolbook cart. I used premade/purchased flowers and put them together in a folded manner for the box front. Then, I mounted that tiny black button in the center. The stem is made using a black marker. Then, I stamped the sentiment. I used pink stickles to line each petal of the flower on the top of the box. Easy peasy as Aymee would say! Now, I will have to find a special "little" gift to put in precious "little" boxes (after making another one exactly like this one) and give them to his teachers. This might be an idea for Valentine's Day! Teachers (or the ones I know) love jewelry, and these are the perfect size for that.

Well, I am off to Skype with Aymee again today. I hope to get some more neat things accomplished (I am making another boardbook - this time for a member of our school's dance line - Aymee is designing/cutting some cool things for me to incorporate in it). Please check back soon.

Monogrammed Cards

These cards are for a very thoughtful lady. She is a "huge" Alabama fan, so I think she will really like these cards.

This is a set of 6 cards (2 each of 3 different designs). I bound them together with red toille.

The houndstooth paper is adhered to a white card base. The medallion was cut using the Storybook cart. Then, I distressed the edges. The "B" is cut from that cart using the "shadow" function feature. Then, I adhered the red dot ribbon to black ribbon before mounting it on the card.

The card is made from red cardstock. The scalloped square was cut using the Storybook cart as was the "B" (this time I used the the "Fancy" feature for the monogram). I used houndstooth ribbon adhered to a strip of white cardstock on the bottom of the card.

For this card, I used a red dot card base (this was from a set of boxed cards from Hobby Lobby - you can choose to use them as is, or decorate them as you wish). The monogram "B" was cut using the Shorty/Holes function on the Storybook cart. The black flower ribbon is adhered to black ribbon, then mounted at the bottom.

I also used the coordinating monogrammed "B" on the flap of each envelope.

I would like to make more of these. They are generic and can be used for a variety of occasions. Now, that is thrifty!

Valentine's Cards

Hello,

I spent the day yesterday scrapping with my daughter, Aymee. I just love Skype. It is so nice to get to spend time with her. We had such a great day. We scrapped from about 11:00am until almost 11:30pm. I am a slow scrapper, so I only completed 2 Valentine's cards, 6 monogram cards, and 1 gift box.

Aymee showed me a neat way to make cards. It makes them so easy to display. I am sure Aymee has the directions on her blog. Just visit her at http://southernbellescrapper.blogspot.com/ I also scraplifted the card fronts from very talented scrappers at the Cricut Messageboard.

For this first card, I chose red cardstock for the base.

Then I ran a piece of white cardstock through the Cuddlebug. Next, I embossed it using the Swirls embossing folder. Then, I used Pink Lipstick distressing ink on the edges and tops of the swirls for added dimension.

For the next step, I cut the pink hearts using the Wild Card Cricut cart. Then, I embossed them with the dots embossing folder. I also used the pink distressing ink on these.

After that, I cut the red hearts using the Plantin Schoolbook cart. I embossed them with the dots embossing folder and distressed them as well.

For the postage stamp, I used the embossing/die that came with the Cuddlebug machine. The white base was cut using the die. The pink on top is actually the entire embossed piece, but I repeated the process with the red. Then, I cut the red heart out and adhered it on top of the pink heart. I know you probably can't tell, but the word "LOVE" is embossed in the center of the heart. I also used red stickles on top of the red heart in order to make it "pop.".

I used white toille for the ribbon/bow.

The next step was to create the smaller white piece you see on the bottom of the card. I ran this one through the Cuddlebug using the swirls folder and distressed it too. The red heart is cut from the Plantin Schoolbook cart, embossed with the dots folder, and distressed. Then I adhered that chipboard piece on top. The pink piece was stamped with the title "I Will Always Love You" and with tiny hearts in opposing corners.

The last step was to adhere the button which is used to create an easel for the card.

Now, isn't that the neatest thing!!!!

Here is a side view of the card so you can see how it works.

I chose to make this card in the same manner. The tree trunk was cut using the Stretch Your Imagination cart. The hearts were cut using the Plantin Schoolbook cart. The top of the tree made from 2 hearts cut from pink printed paper. The 4 small hearts are from coordinating cardstock. Then I highlighted them with pink stickles.

The title was stamped using individual letter stamps.

The squirrels were cut from the Storybook cart (isn't that little one adorable!). I used an olive green colored pencil for the grass stems.

I also used distressing ink on the edges of the blue pieces, the pink tree, the green lawn, and the tree trunk.

The message on the card base is a sticker. Then, I used a blue button for the "easel."

Cards for a Man

I just finished these two cards for our school secretary. She said her husband liked cars, and he is a construction worker. I couldn't decide what to do, so I made one of each.

This first card was made with the Everyday Paperdolls Cart. Then, I added the measuring tape ribbon at the bottom. I didn't add a greeting to this card because I don't know which card she will want. If she doesn't want this one, I will add it to my card file for later use. It is versatile and could be used for several different occasions.

This car was made with the Mickey cart. It took me a while to put together because of the dark colors and little pieces (and I can't see near as well as I did not so long ago). I don't know if you can tell or not, but I used shiny silver paper for the chrome pieces on the car and shiny black paper for the seat. I think these elements really makes it special. This card can also be used for several different occasions.

I really enjoyed my afternoon with these cards. I will most definitely have to make more like these because I am always needing cards, and those for a man are more difficult for me to make.

Braves Boardbook

Well, I'm at it again! Another boardbook! I just love making these things. If you haven't tried making one, you should give it a shot. You may be like me and become hooked.

This book is for another teacher at my school. She wanted a book that would allow her sister the opportunity to showcase a few of her favorite family pics of their adventures to see the Braves in action.

Here is the front cover - designed of course by my daughter, Aymee.

This close-up of the "B" has the Braves logo stickled in red. Amyee also made the logos for me.

The front of the R has a pocket for special journaling. I also chose the "A Child's Year" cart for the ball/bat, and the "Everyday Paperdolls" for the glove. I used those two carts throughout the book.

The back of the A and front of the V provide ample space for photos. I purchased that cute baseball paper at Hobby Lobby. I have used it on the remaining pages in this book along with the red rickrack trim. As you can tell, I used the Everyday Paperdoll cart for the baseball player and the helmets (for her son). The "A's" were cut using the Plantin Schoolbook cart.

For the back of the "V", I used the EDPD cart again to cut that cute little girl (for one of her daughters). I also used it to cut the hot dog and the cola. Red stickles were used to highlight the images.

For the front of the "E", I used that cart again to cut another girl (for the other daughter). She also has a cola in one of her hands. Those paperdolls are so much fun to make. I love that cart. It is very versatile.

The back of the "E" and front of the "S" features the title, "Take me Out to the Ballgame." It was cut with the Learning Curve cart. I also used the "A Child's Year" cart for the dad/boy & dad/girl images.

The back of the "S" features the logo. It also provides space for photos/journaling.

A Baby Boardbook

I made this boardbook for a lady at my school. She and her students gave it to their
"student teacher - intern" on her last day at our school. I chose to use cream, gold, and black. I thought these colors would be great for silhouettes. This was my first attempt at many of the images on the New Arrival cart.

Back of B and front of A - That little pregnant lady is so cute! I used tiny pearls on her neck and wrist for jewelry and on the hat band. That flourish on the leg of the A is a rub-on from a goodie package I received from a scrappin pal.

A close-up of the back of A - The black square on the right hand side at the top is actually a pocket. At the time, we didn't know if the baby was a girl or boy. So, one of the papers says "girl" and the other "boy." There is a ribbon tied on the corner of each one to make it easier to pull out of the pocket.

Front of second B - I love that little baby in the pea pod. That was so fun!!!! The scalloped side of the photo mat is also a pocket. I thought this would be a great place to put her 3-D sonogram and then place the journaling in the pocket.

An Altered Project

This picture was made as a request from my friend, Kathy. Kathy and I have been very close friends since we were both in the fourth grade. That was a long time ago BTW. I made two pictures with this same theme for a co-worker (and her mom) who gave us fabulous tickets to a UNA football game recently. They wouldn't let us pay for the tickets, so we decided to make something for them. Well, let me tell you, it was a huge success! They both loved it. Kathy also fell in love with the idea when she saw them, so I created one for her new home. I purchased that gorgeous frame from Hobby Lobby along with the paper. Then I used the Lyrical Letters cart to cut the "N" and the Plantin Schoolbook cart for her last name "Nichols". I know she will really appreciate and treasure this gift.

Caitlan's Boardbook

Caitlan is the daughter of a co-worker. She is a cheerleader at RHS.
For this book, I used mostly Everyday Paperdolls, Mickey and Friends, and Lyrical Letters Cricut carts.

A look at the entire book.

On the "C", is chose to spell out her name and use stickles on it.

For the "A", I went to our Tiger Walk and made notes/drawings from Caitlan's Tiger Paw. I copied it almost identical. I think she will really be pleased with this page.

Front of I - That pic didn't turn out well at all. I used a mat with a chipboard "C" along with a cheerleader pieced using EDPD.

Back of I - I ran the basketball through the Cuddlebug with the swiss dots folder for added dimension. I also used gunmetal stickles on the net.

Front of T - I really like the football. I ran it through the Cuddlebug using the swiss dots embossing folder also. Then, I decided to sew the lines on the football. It is so cute!

Front of L - This little cheerleader is in her warm-up suit. It is a replica of her actual warm-up attire.

Back of L - I wanted to do a "girly" page because Caitlan is a beautiful girly girl. I used the Mickey cart to construct the fingernail polish and along with the lipstick on the next page. I stickled over the top of the polish, and then tied a black bow to accent the bottle.

Front of second A - The lipstick tube and the purse is cut from shiny paper. They are the cutest little things! I also really like the hair ribbon.

Back of second A - I decided to include a page where Caitlan could list her favorite cheers if she chooses to do so. If not, the lined paper can be used for journaling, etc...

Back of N - Don't you love that #1 finger?!? We are actually runner-up in football in our state in class/division 5A. We had a great season! Congrats team/cheerleaders/coaches!!!!!

I know you can't see it, but I used ribbon on the end banner. It really added interest to that page. Aymee said she liked the way I used smaller letters as the banner got more narrow.

The is the back of the book. I really believe Caitlan will love it!!!!

Caressa's Boardbook for Grace

My daughter-in-law has a friend who just had a beautiful daughter, so she made this book for her. Caressa did most of the work - I just "taught" her how to use the Cricut and put together the paper piecings. I think she did a great job. I don't have SCAL and the deep-cut blades/housing to cut the books with the letters welded to them, so we just cut the letters and adhered them to the far right side of the page. We mainly used Storybook, New Arrival, and Winnie the Pooh carts for the book. Also, the paper we used is from the Nana's Nursery Baby Girl DCWV stack from Hobby Lobby. Caressa thinks the Zutter Bind-It-All tool/machine is awesome! It really does make the books look more professional/neater - in my opinion.

The font is just perfect - don't you think so?

When we first began piecing the Eeore, I thought it would never look like it should. However, as you can see, it turned out just right. It just takes a little patience and manipulating of the pieces - as well as constantly looking at the pic in the book that comes with the cart.

The addition of the clear/glittery bubbles is adorable!

Little Piglet is just amazing! It is on the page opposite the bath tub - hence - the umbrella.

Tigger was another piece that took some patience and use of the book. He is the most precious addition to the book! He is so fun!

Don't you just love him!

This back page is for a little family history if the mother chooses to use it in that manner.

Anna Boardbook

This boardbook was designed for a young lady named "Anna". Anna is involved in many extracurricular activities - some of which are included in her book. Everyday Paperdolls, Lyrical Letters, and Mickey and Friends were the carts I used for this book.

I hope you can tell that I used "thread" to make the shoe laces. It is so cute! Also, on back of the first A, I made a basketball goal to decorate the mat which can be used for journaling or photos.

I included some tiny diamond-looking gems for earrings on this page.

This page is dedicated to the "Tiger Walk" at our school. We have tiger paws painted on the road leading to our stadium. Each year, the ball players' and cheerleaders' moms choose a paw to decorate which represents their child. I think that sometimes the cheerleaders design/decoate their own paw. Its really neat to drive by the stadium and see the unique paws on the road.

Hunter Boardbook

This boardbook was made for a young man named Hunter who loves hunting. How appropriate is that! I haven't decorated many books with a "male" theme, but I have to say that this book was so much fun to make. It is so cute! The pics really don't show just how adorable this book really is - Sorry. Also, I didn't take pics of the finished book - Or if I did, they aren't on my laptop. I used twine in a few places for some extra bling, and I also used it on the binding. I used the Winter Wonderland and Everyday Paperdolls Cricut carts mainly in decorating this book.

I made a 2-way radio for his hand on this last page. I also used black stickles on the tires, silver stickles for the bumpers, and silver buttons for the hubcaps. It really made the truck stand out.

A Plethora of Boardbooks

Well, it has been quite a while since I have updated my blog. Hopefully, I can do a much better job in keeping it current. Aymee and I have been extremely busy with boardbooks-as you will see. Aymee designs them with her SCAL, cuts them, and then we decorate them. I really enjoy making these adorable treasures.

We have made several with the word "FAMILY" - they have been decorated with the following themes: Beach, Bama, Fall, Christmas,

I had a blast with the beach book. I mainly used A Child's Year and Life is a Beach Cricut carts for its design -

Watermelon Festival

Good Evening! Well, as you could tell I haven't posted anything on my blog is a couple of weeks. We are back in school, and I have been extremely busy. Also, I have sprained my right wrist and am having to let it "rest" and give it a chance to heal. I hope to be able to scrap some Saturday.

In our little town, we have a Watermelon Festival in August every year. We always enjoy the car show, vendors, musicians, and children's activities. We spent most of our weekend (August 14 - 15) having a "blast" with Carter. That child has a good time at whatever he does.

It was extremely hot on Saturday, and Carter was really feeling the heat. Here he is cooling off with the mist from a fan.

Here he is doing what he does any time he is outdoors - climbing.

His favorite of all the activities was the trampoline with the stretchy bands attached to the jumper. He loved going "way up top" as he says (and he went waaaayyy up top).

He didn't like this climbing wall as well as the first one he climbed.

This is him carrying Momaw's chair for the concert. He is getting so big!

Serenity

Below is a layout of a pic taken while on the island of Cozumel. It was a gorgeous day, and the massage was just what I needed; it was so relaxing and soothing. The layers of blue simulate ocean waves; one of which "rolls" slightly to the top of the pic. The rhinestones are droplets of water.

The title - serenity - was cut using the Life's a Beach Cricut cartridge.

Carter's First Day of School

I am so proud of Carter! He had a great first day of school. He went into the classroom and began coloring and visiting with the other children. He didn't seem to care that Caressa (his mom) was leaving him there. When she went to pick him up, he told her that he would just stay there a little longer. He is growing up so fast and becoming increasingly independent each day.

BTW, I altered another can for the teacher's aide in Carter's room, but failed to take pics of it so I could share it with you. Caressa and I filled them with neat little goodies. Carter carried them in and gave them to his teachers. Caressa said they were so surprised and very appreciative. I felt so good letting them know how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication. We plan to do something special for them each month. This is going to be so much fun!!!!!!

Another Altered Clipboard

I finished altering a clipboard for my partner teacher, so I wanted to share it with you too. Her beginning-of-the-year hall bulletin board is food related; therefore, I chose to use that theme for the clipboard too.

I had a great time with this project today. My grandson will be going to pre-K this year, so I am going to alter a can and put some goodies in it for his teacher. I will share it with you as soon as I have it completed.

My New Clipboard

I use a clipboard at school everyday. My partner teacher and I use one for recording attendance/discipline in order to keep each other informed. I also clip my daily schedule/lesson plans on one. While on vacation, I saw this idea and decided to spice up my own clipboards. I chose to use pink, lime green, and owls to match the theme of my classroom this year.

Motion of the Ocean

Well, we are home from our cruise, and I finally feel like I am on land again. We had a GREAT time!!!! I wish we would've had an extra day at Cozumel and Calilca. There was so much to do, and not near enough time. We definitely want to go back.

These first 3 pics are of us in Calica at Xcaret. While there we toured the Mayan Archaeological Sites, the Coral Reef Aquarium, and various native animal exihibits. We also rode a boat down Paradise River and went snorkeling in the Underground River. Then, we ate lunch at the beach which is located close to the natural pool (a place to swim with the dolphins and turtles as well as explore the coral reef - we didn't have time to do these things).

1st pic - there were small sharks (2-3 feet long) swimming in the waterway next to me.

2nd pic - Ron really enjoyed the Mayan Sites.

3rd pic - was taken in the Wildlife Farm area.

The last two pics were taken on the island of Cozumel. We spent most of the day at a fabulous beach. There was a climbing wall and trampoline in the water. That was so much fun. There were also areas on the beach for massages, relaxing in hammocks or beach chairs, tiki bars, ice cream hut, volleyball, etc... We were also treated to a buffet which was replenished and kept fresh all day.

Here I am enjoying a wonderful massage!

This pic was taken at Senor Frog's. After shopping, we spent some time enjoying their veranda while waiting to board a bus to the private beach.

Scrappin' With Aymee

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend! Aymee and I have been scrapbooking. I wanted to share with you the things I have finished.

"Loves Chocolate A Latte' "
This layout is for 2 challenges on Treasured Scrapbooking: LJ's Ice Cream Challenge and Karen's Chocolate Challenge. I used Doodlecharms for the ice cream cone and Lyrical Letters for the title/cherries. I used the Cuttlebug D'vine Swirl and Argyle folder on my ice cream cone. I added Stickles and Glossy Accents. Here it is:

"Sunkissed Sweeties"

These pictures were taken of Ron and I with our closest friends at the beach a few weeks ago. This layout is for Jenn's 'Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weenie' challenge and Abbie's Recipe Challenge. I used Lyrical Letters for the flowers, title, bathing suit, umbrella, and brackets. I sitckled the flowers, bathing suit, and Umbrella. I also used the Fiskars Apron Lace border punch. This paper is by My Mind's Eye.

"A Berry Merry Christmas"

This layout is for Amanda's 'Christmas In July' challenge, Ginger's 'Ruby Red' challenge, and Aymee's 'July Sketch' on Treasured Scrapbooking. It is also for the Ziggy's 'Red' challenge on Just Scrappin'. I used Wild Card for the flowers, shaped frame, and 'chocolate' on the strawberry. I used Lyrical Letters for the title. The strawberry and vine is from Happily Ever After. The strawberry cap is from Accent Essentials. I used several different cuts from various cartridges to make my own strawberry. I also embossed the strawberry with Swiss Dots and D'Vine Swirl. I added Glossy Accents to the swirls on the chocolate. I also incorporated some green ribbon for my 'stem' on the strawberry.

Family Time

Summer Time

TS has some fabulous challenges this month. Please stop by for a look at the work of many talented scrappers.

This first layout combines 2 challenges.
Debbie's Red/White/Blue challenge is using these colors without tying them to the 4th of July.
Pinky's Thank Heavens for the Sewing Machine challenge is in honor of - you guessed it - the sewing machine. She asked us to include sewing or fabric somewhere on our layout.
I cut the star and "a splash of" from the Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cart. The word "summer" was cut using the Lyrical Letters cart. I also used a star border punch on the red strip of paper, some red ribbon to help frame out the photo, star buttons tied with jute, and zigzag stitching around the edge of the star. Don't you just love this balancing act to wash the grass off his feet?!? He is so funny and smart. Carter had a great time "splashing" around in the water.

This layout completes Aymee's "Life's a Bowl of Blueberries" Challenge. All Aymee asked of us was to use the color blue and a circle or circles. Now, how easy is that! My background paper has the circle shape repeated in many ways and is primarily blue. Also, Carter's plate and the bowl on his head (which was the hard-hat he needed for his job he said.) are circular shape. I used the Home Decor Cricut cart to cut these stars. Then, I used blue distressing ink on the edges of the off-white matting and journaling box before attaching them to the stars. I also used popdots on the largest star which is at the bottom of the page for some added dimension and interest.

Another New Scrapper

Here is another new talented scrapper. I really enjoyed getting to know this intelligent, outgoing, etc... young lady today. As you will see, she also created some gorgeous layouts!

This layout is of her and her Homecoming escort. He is also a former student!

This pic shows a very beautiful layout!!!! She used the Storybook cart to cut the flowers, title. and the butterfly. She also added some rhinestones to some of the flower centers and some Fruit Punch Stickles to the butterfly wings.

A New Scrapper

Good Evening All,

I had a fabulous day! A former student and friend visited me today to learn a little about creating layouts. As you will see, they did an excellent job! I am so proud of them.

I was very blessed to have had the opportunity to be this young lady's teacher last year. She is a very intelligent, outgoing, dependable, etc.... individual. Also, as you will notice, she is creative and crafty.

In this pic, she is showcasing the layout she made about dance lessons. She cut out the ballet shoes (upper left-hand corner) using PDDU and then used ribbon at the top to represent the laces. She also found some blue ribbon that resembled the feathers on the hats in the pics and adhered it to the title strip. Then, she used a journaling card to tell her story about those beautiful photos.

Open Wide!

Yah!!!! I finally finished a layout this month. This layout features none other than my grandson, Carter. This picture was taken at an amusement park when he was at the beach in Gulf Shores. My grandson really enjoys life. He has a good time at whatever he does. As you can tell, this is another example of him "finding" something to do.

The paper I used is textured and has some glitter on it.
I used the Accent Essentials Cricut Cartridge to cut the circles (scallop and plain).
Life's A Beach was used to cut the bamboo (pop dots were used to give it additional dimension).
Lyrical Letters was used to cut the title.
I also used ribbon for grass at the bottom and around the circle.

Just "Beachy"

I'm a little sunburned, but other than that our trip to Panama City Beach was absolutely awesome! We spent our days relaxing at the beach with our friends and our evenings shopping at Pier Park, eating at some of the most mouth-watering restaurants, listening to very talented musicians, and strolling the beach.

I'll post some pics/layouts of our trip soon.

On The Waterfront

I completed this layout last night for challenges on 2 boards; Treasured Scrapbooking and Just Scrappin' (TS & JS).

I am hosting a black/white challenge on JS, so this layout is for that challenge. I used all black and white paper as well as black/white photos. The only other colors you see are from embellishments/lettering (the sun and the title). For the sun, I used chipboard and covered it with tissue paper. Then, I used 2 different colors/textures of ribbon for the sun's rays. The title was cut using the Cricut Printing Press cart.
It also completes the requirements for Kerri's Molecular Formula (H2O) challenge which required something pertaining to water be used in a layout.

At TS, this layout is for 2 challenges:
Abbie's Progression Challenge - For her challenge, I had to use pics to show progression. These photos are of Carter turning on the sprinklers, watering my gladiolas, and then running through the water.
Jenn's Summer Fashion Challenge - This challenge is about how fashion trends can be used/seen in scrapping. She provided us with fashion pics, and we were to use them for our inspiration. This summer's hottest fashion styles are the use of lots of color as well as black/white, vivid patterns (stripes, circular, etc..), large jewelry (dangle earrings, large bracelets, etc...), ribbons, scarves, bows, - So, the use of black and white as well as the stripes and dots, large/circular/ colorful sun with rays of ribbon, etc ...

I have several more challenges to complete, so I am off to enjoy some quality alone time to scrap. It is such a wonderful de-stressor!

Appetizer Recipe Cards

Good Evening All,

I am hosting an Appetizer Recipe Swap over at JS. Also, this weekend we are having an online crop there as well. So, I decided to use this swap as a chance to challenge my scrappin' buddies to work on their cards. I have completed 12 cards thus far. The recipe I chose to share is for Chocolate Chip Dip. Now, if you have never tried this be forewarned, it is extremely yummy and addictive.

I designed 2 different cards.

For the first one, I printed out the recipe on red cardstock and attached it to a 6x6 card base.
Then, I cut out the canopy/awning using the My Community Cricut Cart.
Next I used my new Lyrical Letters cart for the "bakery" phrase. (I highly recommend this one for lettering)
Then I used the Paper Doll Dress Up cart to cut out the apron. I used my new "worn lipstick' shade distressing ink by Tim Holtz on the apron edges and attached the ribbon at the waist.
Finally, I stamped the chocolate chip cookie on the recipe and the "made especially for you" tag on the back which has my scrapping name - southernbellesmom

Now for the second design. First, I printed the recipe onto beige colored cardstock.
Then I used my new Swiss Cheese Border Punch on the sides. I also used my brown distressing ink on the edges.
Next, I attached the recipe to a piece of brown cardstock and rounded the corners.
Then, I attached it to my 6x6 card base. The base has neat little baking/cooking phrases printed in various fonts. So cute!!!!
Finally, I used some brown rafia on the top of the brown to add a little more color/interest. I also stamped my tag on the back of this one. I really wish I still had some of those cute little Hershey's Kisses stickers I got while visiting that scrumptious place, but I have already used them. I think that would've looked great on the upper right hand corner of the recipe. Who knows, I may hand cut my own for these cards. If I do, I will take pics and add them to my blog. Just Playin' in Water

Sweet Home Alabama

I arrived back in Bama yesterday after being in PA with Aymee for a week. We had a great time scrapping and visiting with friends. Here are 2 cards I made Monday night. This first one is for a challenge at JS which requested an anniversary card. I used scrap paper to make this project. After stitching the tic-tac-toe diagram on the card, I cut the squares and ran them through the Cuttlebug maching using Aymee's mini "i love you" folder. Next, I distressed the edges of the card base and squares using brown ink. Then, I used a chocolate color cardstock and several Cricut carts to cut the game pieces.

This card is also for a challenge at JS. For it, I was to use the colors black, red, and cream to create a birthday or summer card. Once again, this project was created with items from the scrap bin except for the toille.

Scrappin' With Aymee's PA Girlfriends

On Saturday, Aymee and I went to Katie's house to scrap with some more of her friends. It was a beautiful day. We had a great time visiting, eating, and scrapping.

I completed 2 layouts! This first layout is for Erin's Summer Adventure challenge at TS. Since T-Ball is a summer adverture in our area I chose to scrap Carter at a T-Ball game. I used the Printing Press Cricut cart to cut the large circle for the (baseball). I used the sewing maching for the zigzag stitch on the baseball. The pirate and the skull/crossbones were cut from the Paper Doll Cricut cart (Carter's team is the Pirates). The title "Sly Slugger" was cut from the Printing Press Cricut cart also. Aymee gave me the folded skull/crossbone folded paper that I used in the grouping with the black trim and the pirate boy at the bottom of the layout.

Next, this layout is for Jenn's "Super Man" challenge. In this challenge I was to scrap about the "super" man in my life. I chose to scrap about my wonderful husband, Ron. The photo used in the layout is one in which he is on the T-Ball field with Carter. The square with the word love is from a sheet of labels from Cosmo Cricket. The wings were cut using the Christmas Solutions Cricut cart, and the Title was cut using the new Lyrical Letters Cricut cart. Aymee gave me the brown flower and brad that I used in the center of the wings. My journaling is around the edge of the brown mat.

Aymee and I had a great time scrapping in her neat, organized scrap haven. She has an awesome scrap room! I only made one layout that night, but it has a lot of detail. The inspiration for this layout came from those adorable photos. These pics of Carter and his friend Carley were taken at the beach in May. I also really like this sketch. It reminds me of the fan quilt pattern. I used the new Life's a Beach Cricut cartridge for the "island looking" letters and the Hibiscus flowers. I used the Paper Doll cart for that sweet little paper doll boy and girl. The "grass" skirt on the girl is really trim we found on sale at JoAnn's. Also, I finally did some sewing on a layout! I stitched around the "fan" shaped pieces. That was so much fun!!!!

Scrapping With Michele

Well, as you are aware, I haven't posted anything in several days. I am at Aymee's for a short visit. We traveled to Palmyra (close to Hershey, PA) on Friday, and I finally got to meet my friend Michele in person. She is a very sweet, cordial lady with an equally hospitable family. I really learned a lot of neat tips from this great scrapper.

While there, I finished 2 layouts and 2 cards.

This layout is the most simple one I have ever completed. I completed it for Beth's "Use Your Stash" challenge at TS. For this challenge, I was to use materials from my stash (materials I have had stashed aside). The following were cut using the Cricut machine:
Printing Press cart - the Title (priceless) & the ring (around the photo)
Storybook cart - the corner branch
Home Accents cart - the inticate butterfly
I also stitched around the edge of this layout. I am really liking the sewing on scrapbooking projects!

This layout is for LauraJean's "Scrap It Large" Challenge at TS which was to scrap a 5x7 photo. I really like this sketch. The "lollipop" flowers are so much fun to make! This is also the first time I have used lace to create flowers. This eyelet trim has tiny beads attached on the flowers. It is also the first time I have tried to make box pleats. It wasn't difficult, but it did take me a little time to do. However, I think it was well worth it! The phrase, "Beach Bum" was cut using the Life's a Beach Cricut cart. I also used a small zigzag stitch around the edges to frame the layout.

Michele and I made 2 cards together which are almost identical. This is the fastest card making I have ever done. It is a lot easier when someone is doing the cutting and gathering materials. Hahahahaha - Thanks Michele!

The inspiration for this card came from that adorable ribbon. Don't you just love it! We cut the watermelon using the Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge. We used the distressed stripes Cuttlebug folder to add texture to the rind. Then, we added some distressing ink to the rind to further add accent and detail. We used Aymee's ribbon folding technique on the wired watermelon ribbon.

Next, we both fell in love with the idea for this "cheery" cherry card. We both have been wanting to make a cherry card for quite some time now. So, when we saw this ribbon we knew it was time. This cherry was cut using the new Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge. It has the cutest fonts along with phrases and images.

"Outta Sight, Outta Mind!"

The challenge this week at The Cuttlebug Spot is to take out our coloring tools and coloring some wonderful stamped images with any medium of your choice. I chose to use a Pink Cat Studio stamp I have had stored in my stash (never used) for nearly a year. I colored in the image/s using crayons and colored pencils. Then, I mounted them on coral and brown ovals that were cut using my Creative Memories cutting system (another tool I never seem to use). These pieces were then attached to the paisley patterned paper (from my scrap paper bin) that I embossed using the Perfect Paisley Cuttlebug folder. I also used coral colored ribbon on the side and adhered the border which was cut from the Floral Border Cuttlebug Die (also something in my stash that I have never used). Also, as you can tell, I used my Cat's Eye ink to shade/distress the edges and paisley embossing. The use of materials/tools stored in my stash lets you know that with me things really are, "outta sight, outta mind!"

This card is being sent to my BFF to let her know that I have been thinking of her. We have both been very busy and haven't spent any time together in weeks. So, we do need time to lift up each other. She LOVES getting homemade cards.

My First Award! Yah!

I am so excited! I am a scrapper because I love creating interesting, sometimes unusual, and hopefully a few pretty layouts, cards, and other altered projects. Also, I found this craft to be extremely relaxing! I have always been fascinated with paper, crayons, etc... So, "playing" with these things as I did when I was a child is like being given the most wonderful gift.

Card Challenges & The Cuttlebug Spot

The "Mickey Card" completed 2 of the challenges at JS; paper doll and doodle. I used my Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut cart for the paper doll. Then for the title and the Mickey ears in the lower right corner I used the Mickey cart. Those paper dolls are so much fun to create.

This card is for this week's challenge at the Cuttlebug Spot. The challenge was to use brown with either orange or blue. The paper I used for the diagonal background is from the K&Co Blue Awning Stack. I love those papers! I used the Cuddlebug Swiss Dots folder for the top section and the Birds and Swirls folder for the bottom section. The title "beautiful" and flower were cut using the Cricut Home Decor cart. As you can tell, I slightly distressed the edges of the flower and then used Cat's Eye brown ink on it as well. Then, I decided to use a ribbon knot for the center. I also inked the flourishes which I received from a swap I participated in last summer. Thanks Ashley!

This was my first time to cut that particular flower, but I will definitely use it again. It was so much fun to make!

Card Challenges

Good Evening :)

I have completed 4 cards for challenges at JS. This card was created for the "favorite flower" challenge. I chose my ribbon first, then I found the paper to match. Gladiolas are my favorite flowers. Since I didn't have a stamp or other type of image with gladiolas, I found one on line that I could color using my colored pencils.

Here is a close up of the ribbon and the flowers.

Next, I created this card for the "outdoor activity" challenge. I used one of my cow stamps and colored it also. The title "Howdy Y'all" is also from the cow set. I cut the daisies using my Mickey Cricut cart, then I put matching brads in the centers. The check and orange mats were cut from the Storybook Cricut cart.

Crock Pot Recipe Cards

Happy Hump Day! Well, I have had Carter since yesterday afternoon. He has been so good. We worked outside today, and he was really a great helper. I haven't scrapped any today, and right now I am way too tired.

Yesterday I completed my cards for the Crock Pot Recipe Swap I am participating in at JS. Each card is different (except for the recipe and bread basket tag) because I used paper from my scrap bin to create them. Not only did I make these cards, but I actually cooked the recipe I chose to use in this swap. The entire house smelled so good, and they were D-licious!:)

I found the bread basket clip art on line and then copied and colored it using my colored pencils. Then I adhered it to the scallopped circle which I cut using my Cricut Accent Essentials cart. I chose to shade the edges of several cards to make them "pop" a little more. I also used ribbon in some manner on each one.

I am so happy to be adding to my recipe album. Not only do I have great recipes, but the cards are too cute!

Cuddlebug Challenge

The challenge this week on The Cuttlebug Spot was to emboss vellum, metal, etc. I chose to use another technique Aymee posted as a tutorial on her blog; papercasting. It was sooo much fun! After the toilet paper dried, I mounted it on a rectangular mat which is shaded with light pink ink. These pieces were then mounted on the scalloped edge card base using pop dots. Then, I cut out the baby girl outfit in white using the New Arrival Cricut cartridge. I ran the top pieces through the Cubblebug machine using the swiss dots folder. I also shaded the lacy looking parts of the bottom layer with light pink chalk. Next, I decided to use a light pink brad as the center of the flower. I also applied the pink ribbon on the bottom of the card using Aymee's folded ribbon technique. The "It's a Girl" phrase used on the inside of the card and the matching envelope were cut using the New Arrival cart as well.

This card has a very soft look which is just perfect for the recipient; my best friend's daughter.

My Girl!

This layout is for Michelle's Ad Challenge on TS. We were to use the ad as inspiration of complete our lo. I focused on the color pink, the squares, and the girly look because that is what first captured my attention. I used one of Aymee's sketches and followed her folded ribbon tutorial to complete the challenge. Great Scott, Mr. Wilson!

Mr. Wilson is my next door neighbor. Carter loves to go over there to "visit." Last week when Mr. Wilson was sitting on his patio, Carter went over and pulled up a chair to sit by him. Then, he said, "Momaw, take a picture!" So, I got the camera and took their pic. They had the cutest little smiles on their faces. This is truly a priceless treasure.

Another Night of Card Making

I scraplifted this card for a very special lady (a teacher) who is retiring after 35 years of dedication and hard work. I don't know the name of the cardmaker of the original design. If you do, please let me know so I can give credit to the author.
The base of the card and the 2 shaped mats were cut from Accent Essentials. I shaded the bottom mat and the flower using teal blue Cat's Eye ink. The top mat has been attached using pop dots for added height.
The dragonflies and the flowers were cut from Doodlecharms. I embossed the top layer of each dragonfly using the Cuddlebug machine and the swiss dots folder. I adhered them to the mat using thin, foam pop dots and lifted the wings to give them more definition and dimension.
I stamped the sentiment on the top layer of the flower using tea blue ink also.
I followed Aymee's tutorial to create the ruffle design made by the sheer teal blue ribbon. Then, I doubled the ribbon to make it a deeper shade of teal and tied the bow.

This card has a very soft, feminine look which I really like. It was fun to put together.

I made this card for a co-teacher who has a niece graduating from high school tonight.
It is very similar to a card I made earlier in the week (it is posted below).
I used the same paper line, stamp, Cricut cartridge, and verse on the inside of the card.

Still Making Cards

Good evening! I have made several more cards in the past couple of days. I made 2 more teacher cards similar to the ones I made and posted earlier in the week. Then, last night I made 2 graduation cards. This first one is my favorite! To me, it's very elegant. The paper is DCWV. This particular stack looks like wallpaper to me. The dress on the form is a Pink Cat Studio stamp. The little flower on the dress was cut from the Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge, and the title box and leafy corner were cut from the Storybook cartridge. I also used light blue stickles on the flower and the title frame.

This pic shows the leafy corner I attached to the envelope.

The paper this card is made from is the K&Co Life's Journey stack. It has a very femine look to it as well. I used another Pink Cat Studio stamp for this dress/form. I also used the Storybook cartridge to cut the title box. I cut replicas of the larger flowers from left-over paper and attached them to their matching flower using pop dots. As you can tell, I also distressed most of the images. I used pink stickles on the pink rose, and applied lace to the bottom of the title box.

I printed the verse on both cards on vellum and stamped the flourish at the top.

Just Add Scraps

Good Evening! I participated in a one hour challenge tonight on Treasured Scrapbooking! It was a ton of fun.

The challenge was titled, "Just Add Scraps!" This means we were to use some scraps in the layout. So, the scraps I used for this layout are the strips of paper behind the pics and the journaling box.

Also, I was on LauraJean's Team and we were to incorporate faux stitching and brads into our layout. So, my faux stitching is on the tag, and the brads are in the sub-title in the middle of the journaling box.

These pictures are of Carter the day we made Popaw Ron's birthday cake. Carter was so EXCITED! It was almost like it was his birthday. He had such a glow about him. He helped with gathering all the ingredients, and then he did the mixing by himself (and there was no mess). Then, of course, he had to lick the beaters. He told me that he had one by one which means he had one beater in each hand. Hence, the title, One by One! This information is what is included in my journaling.

Scraplifted Teacher Cards

For these cards, I used the following:
The music note paper is K&Co,
The apple is cut from the Happily Ever After Cricut cartridge,
The word "thanks" is cut from Mini Monograms Cricut cartridge,
and the white matting is notebook paper.

For the apple on this card, I chose to use red embossing powder to create a glossy finish. I also used the Fiskars threading water punch to create the scallopped edging.

A Beautiful Weekend

This has been a beautiful weekend here in North Alabama. It was sunny and warm most of the day yesterday. Carter finally came home from the beach, so we spent the day playing with him. Needless to say, I haven't done any scrapping. I do need to make a couple of cards, but that will have to wait until later because we are enjoying this wonderful weather.

Instead, I will share a previously completed layout.

This double page layout is very simple. The challenge was to use an ad slogan as the title. So I chose, "Pardon me, but do you have any..." The following is the remainder of the title hidden under each tag: larger spoons, more pumpkins, more batteries, smaller shoes, more tokens?

On The Downhill Slide

That's right! We just passed "hump day," and the weekend is in sight! Yah!
Here are a couple of cards I recently made.
For this first one, I tried a double embossing technique using a Cuddlebug folder. I stamped my folder with various shades of ink, added my white cardstock, and then ran it through the machine. It was so neat! The butterflies were cut using the Storybook cartridge. Then, I applied stickles to the one that is on top. Next, I adhered them to the card base using pop dots to give it dimension.

This card was made using 4 different Cuddlebug folders. The patterns are more easily recognizable on the blue and lavendar strips. The scalloped circles were cut using my Cricut. I also did some faux stitching on both sides.

Go Ahead; Make My Day

The left hand side of this double layout allowed me to complete 3 more challenges on TS.

1. Abbie's Make your own Patterned Paper - The patterned paper I made is for the journaling. I stamped a flourish on it, used the edge distresser, and then inked it in chestnut brown.

2. Julie's Twisted Ribbon - I twisted brown gross-grain ribbon into a knot, and then I adhered it to the center of my flowers.

3. Laurajean's Let's Play BINGO - I chose the elements on the second line of the Bingo card which instructed the use of at least 3 patterned papers (I used 4), flowers (I cut the flowers from the TBB cartridge and distressed them) ribbons (ribbons are used as flower centers), letter stickers for the title (I cut the title using the Storybook cart and then ran them through the Zyron sticker maker), and photo/s of your choice.

Here is a close-up of the dimension of the flowers and the twisted ribbon which serves as the center. It also shows the patterned paper I made in a little more detail.

Happy Mother's Day

I have heard from both my children this Mother's Day, and I am so thankful for that. I have been scrapping again today. This layout, like previous layouts this weekend, comprises more than one challenge. I have incorporated 3 of Michelle's challenges from Fisk-a-teers; Distressed, 3 kinds of patterned paper, and a creative quote. I love this background paper. I bought it at the scrapbook outlet while we were in Pigeon Forge for the JS retreat. That store had way too many beautiful types of paper. I used my edge distresser on the background and on the photo mat. The patterned papers are the background, the photo mat, and the photo corner & flower. The creative quote is from one of Clint Eastwood's movies (Dirty Harry, I think and if I'm wrong please let me know.); Go ahead and "Make My Day!" That quote suits the picture and my grandson to a "T!" As a matter of fact, he lives each day to the fullest and truly make the most out of every day. I also included the bingo card with the title "live" on it because of Carter's demeanor.
Also, I used one of Aymee's sketches for guidance in putting this layout together. I know I am prejudice, but she is a fabulous scrapbooking sketch artist.

Maybe I'm Too Relaxed!!!

I have just completed my second layout for today. How many scrappers do you know who will only complete 2 layouts in ~ 9 hours? So, maybe I am just a little too relaxed. Oh! Well! I'm not trying to win a race.

This layout encompasses 3 challenges. Two of which are from TS and the other one is from Michelle at Fisk-a-Teers!!

1. Cristal's, aka Pinky, challenge is in celebration of Cinco de Mayo and directs us to use something with 5's. So, my 5 word title is "Just Call Me Mr. Fix-it." I am counting fix-it as one word.

2. Debbie's challenge is to create a layout about motherhood. I chose to do another lo about my grandson. He not only fills my life with wonderful memories, he causes me to remember precious moments with my children, Tyler and Aymee. Debbie also asked that a heart be included, so if you look closely at the critter in the lower right hand corner, you will notice a small heart.

3. Michelle at Fisk-a-teers challenged us to "Stick 'em up!" This means to use stickers to help tell the story of the layout. I used 2 small cars and some shiny tools. The tools can be seen in the hands of the critter and in Carter's hand in the pic at the bottom of the page.

Yes, Carter is under the truck with one of Popaw Ron's tools acting out his vivid imagination. We always watch him carefully, and would never allow him to do that unless we were there to keep an eye on him.
These pics aren't very clear, but hopefully you will be able to distinguish the various elements on the page.

De - Stressing?

That's right! Scrapping is a great way to relieve the body of stress. So, while putting my memories onto paper, I have been destressing. I have only completed one layout all day, but I am a slow scrapper. Actually, I have finished our laundry and the remainder of my weekly house cleaning chores too. That also makes me happy because I feel as though I have accomplished something.

This layout is helping me to complete several challenges. I am always excited when I can do that.

1. Aymee's Sketch Challenge at JS was to scrap about motherhood. She also asked that we use lace or ribbon somewhere on the lo. I chose to scrap about being a grandmother and how it has totally changed my life. For the better, I might add. The picture in the lo is of Carter crawling and beginning to explore his environment. On this particular day, he pulled the television cord from behind the entertainment center and was about to put it into his mouth when his mother "corrected" him. As you can see, it broke his heart. It broke Momaw's heart too because he had such a pitiful face, but it had to be done to make him aware that some things are just not permitted. I used Sassafras paper on this layout along with a fabric background. I hand cut the shaped paper because I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for on any of my Cricut cartridges. I did however use the Cricut to cut the shaped paper for the journaling (Storybook) and for my title (Plantin Schoolbook).

2. This layout also allowed me to complete 2 challenges on TS. Shirley's Color Me Blue Challenge instructed us to use blue somewhere on the layout. As you can tell, I based my entire layout on the color blue. Cherrie's Challenge was to use a Nursery Rhyme as the title of the layout. My title, Little Boy Blue, goes perfectly with the pic.

3. One of Michelle's challenges on Fisk-a-teers was to use fabric as the base of a layout. That pale blue fabric with the little hearts fits perfectly with all the other elements of this project.

Woo Hoo! It's Finally Friday!

I don't know about you, but I am so glad it's Friday. I have been looking forward to this weekend because DH is going 4 wheeling, and I will have the house all to myself. I intend to "crop 'till I drop!" I have new pics of Carter that I need to scrap and several challenges I need to complete. So, hopefully I will have some new work to post soon.

Here are some more pics of Carter. He needed to make the seat "not cold", so as you can see, he is solving that problem.

Carter: My Grandson and Main Scrappy Subject

This layout is of Carter with his underwear on backwards. I used these photos to complete a sketch challenge on JS. I used my Cricut to cut out the hearts (Doodlecharms?), tag (Tags, Bags, Boxes), and lettering (Plantin Schoolbook). The tag says, "Oops!" The two "o's" are in the shape of underwear!

This layout was completed according to a sketch challenge on JS as well. I used the Storybook Cart for the title and the owl. I also used sticky dots which I recieved from my All About Me Secret Sister as the eyes.

In this layout, the challenge was to use yellow. And yes, Carter has his finger up his daddy's nose. Tyler was asleep when all of a sudden he felt this little finger inside his nose. As you can tell, this momaw always has a camera ready.

The next two photos were taken in my library after I returned from our Just Scrappin' Retreat in the Smoky Mountains last month. Carter loves that hat and had a great time modeling for Momaw Carol. I had the pics developed in sepia tones, and they look great! I can barely wait to scrap them (probably not until the weekend - boo hoo).

We Cropped Till We Dropped

Good Evening All! Hope you had a great day! My first day back at school after spring break was great. We only have 3 more weeks of school after this week. I told my students today that I was sick. They asked, "What's wrong?" I said, "I'm sick of school!" Then I explained that it is so hard for me to be in school during the spring. I want to be outside. I then told them that teachers feel the same way they do; they are ready for school to be out too. I will truly miss my "little darlings", but they are ready for the next level.

Now, as for scrapping, Aymee and I scrapped all day yesterday. We had a blast. We completed several challenges from JS and TS. This layout was created based on "A Poem for Your Thoughts" posted by my friend Kelly. I chose my baby (25 year old baby) because she is my best friend. I chose to write a cinquain poem. There is no photo on this layout yet because it isn't ready for pick-up.

This layout is based upon a challenge submitted by another friend, Ziggy. The challenge was to scrap about a road trip, and as a bonus to include a dragon. She also posted info about "The Dragon's Tail", so I chose to scrap about our Labor Day weekend motorcycle trip to Deal's Gap/The Dragon's Tail. As you can see, I included a post card as well as pics. I also used Paper Doll Dress Up for the dragon. Thanks Zigs for the great challenge.

Next, Cristal posted a challenge on JS which was to use a post card and her sketch in a layout. So, here is my interpretation of that fun project. I decided to do a 2 page layout, so this serves double duty for me. I also posted the results on TS for a 2 page lo challenge. I used New Arrival on the left hand layout because it fit so well with a weekend trip my friend Kathy and I took to northern Georgia (Helen, Dalonega - spelling?, and Cleveland). Cleveland is the home of the Cabbage Patch General Hospital. We had a blast in that place. The right hand page was created using photos taken while we were there, as well as the Paper Doll Dress Up cart for the baby face and Home accents for the leaves which I altered to mimic the cabbage leaves in the pics.

This is a close up of the left hand page. As you can see, I used the Paper Doll Dress Up to create the stork and baby. Then, I shaded it to look more like the stork/baby in the post card.
